Dashuang (大爽, Dàshuǎng) is a character who appears in Lanxi Zhen and The Legend of Hei. He is part of the group from Li Qingning's village that settles in Lanxi Town. During Fengxi's attack on Long You, he helps with the evacuation effort by teleporting hundreds of humans en masse from the city to a nearby hilltop with seeming ease.

Appearance[]

Dashuang has fluffy black hair that covers his eyes, leaving only his nose and mouth visible. He has a mole on his right cheek and a very sparse mustache. He sports a maroon hoodie and black pants in the movie.

In the manhua, he wears a simple beige outfit with a length of gold chain around his neck. His hair is tied into a topknot but his bangs still cover his eyes. He appears to dual wield two swords or knives.[1]

History[]

Lanxi Town[]

Dashuang was an elfin who lived among humans in a village, such as the Village Chief, Da Zhuang, Que’er and Li Qingning. Sadly, the village was destroyed during wartime. One night, as the village was being ravaged by soldiers, elfin deity Laojun appeared before the townsfolk and saved them from the soldiers[2]. Laojun offered everyone to live in his home, a place named Lanxi Town[3], which existed in a different place of reality, and was unaffected by the war. While some of the townfolk decided to stay in the mountains, the rest of them went to Lanxi Town[1], and began to live there, in the Dongsi district. After being registered, everyone received a farmland to harvest rice[4].

Life in Lanxi Town was peaceful. Little Qingning began to work as a doctor, and to study under Laojun. Because of her studies, she often left the town to visit the outside world. Dashuang was among the village-folk who said goodbye to her[5]. Years later, the war ended, and many residents chose to leave Lanxi Town and to return to the outside world. However, Dashuang and the rest of the village-folk chose to stay in the town, as their village was completely burned down. Lanxi Town was their home now[6]. Years passed, and Qingning continued going out. In one such occasion, she brought back mementos from their old village, broken down stuff from back then[7]. Eventually, Qingning began to work to become an immortal, which required her to stay in seclusion for multiple years. Dashuang and the village-folk all greeted her goodbye[8]. Dashuang was also present when Zheng Kuo and Gu Jie, residents of Lanxi Town, explained their choice to leave the town.

Eventually, Dashuang left Lanxi Town, for mysterious reasons.

Modern times[]

Dashuang began to live among human society, and to work for the Elfin Guild, an elfin association created to ensure peaceful coexistence between elfins and humans[9].

One day, Dashuang was testing a new pair of running shoes by running around Lanxi Park. At 19:14, he got a call by the Guild informing him he had an assignment[9]. An elfin criminal named Fengxi has obtained an ability named Domain, which allowed him to take full control of a portion of space. Fengxi was about to use his ability to take control of Long You city, and the Guild required Dashuang to help evacuate the humans in the area[10]. Dashuang took a cab to an office building, where a younger man in a suit scorted him to a white room white a white ball in its center. Touching it, Dashuang teleported to Long You. A lady handed him a report with the range and area he would have to work with, and Dashuang moved to a tower. The time was 21:53. A voice told Dashuang to confirm the locations and wait for his signal. Then, Dashuang witnessed Fengxi's Domain expanding over the city. Dashuang was given the order to go ahead, and he confirmed it[9]. Dashuang used his ability to teleport every human in the city away from it[10]. Later that night, Fengxi was stopped and the Domain deactivated.

Personality[]

He seems to be a laid back person, conducting himself with calmness even in stressful situations. He doesn't seem to talk much as well either.

Abilities[]

Teleportation[]

He is able to teleport a large number of people a considerable distance away almost instantaneously, even from afar and even if he can't see them as long as he has their coordinates. His power only works on beings with low spiritual power -- it does not work on elfins and executors.[11]
