Inside and Outside, Victory and Defeat (内外与胜负 Nèi Wài yǔ Shèng Fù) is the 23th episode of The Legend of Luo Xiaohei.
Description[]
A-Gen and the elfin artist trio manage to escape from Qingqiu's spiritual space. Inside the convention center, Shanxin wins a gaming tournament with the help of Diting.
Plot[]
Inside Qingqiu’s spiritual space (and some time before the end of the previous episode) Tanjiu creates a copy of A-Gen, who is surprised at how good it looks. Tanjiu explains that he made it by extracting some of A-Gen’s magic material and combining it with the material he collects. He’s creation type. Since the copy is made with A-Gen’s magic material, he’ll learn to control it easily. A-Gen wants to use the copy as a bait, but he has to be careful. If he doesn’t rejoin with his copy later, he’ll be weakened. A-Gen tells them he has a magic stone of the Muluo deity, which surprises Moss.
When Qingqiu and Jiuxian arrive, as seen last episode, we hear A-Gen telling his plan to the elfin artists. He tells them to give up if they’re detected, but he knows that Qingqiu is a space-operator, so he may not find them. While Qingqiu talks with the copy of A-Gen, the real A-Gen and the elfin trio are below him, turned extremely small. A-Gen knows that the “old frog” (referring to Polao) is the only one who can sense them, and that if they make Qingqiu doubt himself, he’ll have to leave to call Polao. When Jiuxian attacks A-Gen’s clone, the fake body dissipates, and the small A-Gen absorbs his magic material back. The moment the replica’s absorbed, everyone goes towards Qingqiu, and climb into his back. A-Gen deduces that they’re probably in the city’s center, likely in some building’s roof. When Qingqiu goes outside, he realizes his deduction was right. While Qingqiu talks to Polao his guard is down, so that’s when A-Xian launches his teleporting coin, which is smaller than a rice grain. That way, they get down, unnoticed, and manage to escape.
At the convention, Xiaohei is caressed and teased by many fans, much to his dismay. Diting quietly laughs at him. Xiaobai notices that many people are gathering around something, and Diting tells her Shanxin is causing a scene.
Outside the convention center, in a rooftop, Fu is annoyed at Qingqiu for his failure, but Qingqiu tells him that no space can counter every possible ability. However, despite their escape, A-Gen and the elfin artists were not their real targets, the Shining Pearl is.
Below them, A-Gen and the elfin artists talk. Since all of them want the Shining Pearl, they agree to go separate ways, and the artists decide to let go of the Pearl. Moss decides to reveal to A-Gen that the Invocation Stone he gave him allows him to track his location, which he fells ashamed for. A-Gen isn’t angry, and tells him he’ll keep the Stone and remove the tracking ability from it, since he can use it to communicate with Moss. A-Gen feels bad that all their hard work was for nothing, but Moss knows that the pursuit of power is always very hard. They say their goobyes.
At the convention, Xiaobai sees that everyone is watching Shanxin play a fighting game. She’s aiming to win a limited edition game, which is the first prize of the game competition.
Outside, A-Gen doesn’t know how to get near the convention center. If he walks near it, he’ll be seen by Qingqiu, Fu and the others. He also doesn’t has a cellphone, nor does he know Xiaobai’s phone number. However, he notices Qingqiu and his group carelessly walking towards the place with a poor cover on their faces. They are quickly surrounded by humans, who think they’re cosplayers and are amazed by their “costumes”. Then, A-Gen notices that Diting is inside the convention.
Inside, Shanxin is challenged to play a team game, for which she’ll need a second player. A man dressed as a Nintendo fan, which she had defeated before, tells her he’ll be her teammate, and that he doesn’t care about the prize. Shanxin tells him she’ll feel bad if they win and she gets the prize, so she’d rather play with her friend, Xiaobai. Shanxin doesn’t care about losing, either. This amazes the man, but his amazement angers Shanxin’s father. Surprisingly, Diting offers to play the game, and Shanxin accepts his help. After the game, everyone is surprised at how good Diting was. They win, and Shanxin gets the big prize. The only reason Diting wasn’t sure about his own abilities is because he uses to play with Laojun, who is even better than him.
Outside, Qingqiu and the rest are still struggling with how to enter the convention center. Only Fu is happy to learn that he’s very popular among humans...
